The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978)

Unless you frequently attend comic-cons and look through the vendors bootleg section you may have never heard of The Star Wars Holiday Special.  The reason is that it only aired once on CBS and was never released on video.  Why?  Because Lucas was not heavily involved in making it and hated the final product – and yet, he really LOVED Star Wars:  Episode I – The Phantom Menace.  To quote C + C Music Factory, “Things That Make You Go Hmmmm.”

But what kind of world would we be living in if this show did not exist?  Well the first appearance of Boba Fett would have been in The Empire Strikes Back.  I know – I was thinking the same thing.  Bea Arthur would have only been known for her role as Dorthy on the tv show “Golden Girls” and not for Ackmena.  And finally, instead of celebrating Life Day we would be forced to celebrate those other terrible holidays like Christmas and Hanukkah.  Happy Life Day everybody!!!
